All of these article ideas are to be about sports.

1) Once proud franchises, the Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins hope to redeem themselves after extremely disappointing seasons.

2) The Florida Marlins once again make unexpected playoff run.

3) The effect of recent budget cuts on sports at Beach High.

4) New Football Coach. (Who is he, where did he come from, etc...)

5) Beijing Olympics: Memorable moments and controversies.

6) i would love to have a little column which i could maybe write once week or two where I could write two to three sentence blurbs about the biggest issues and events in the current sports world. (This is just like what Greg Cote does every Saturday in the Miami herald Sports page.

1-The school uniform-How it's worn, how well are students listening to the guidelines (v-necks vs. crew necks, above the knee or below the knee). How well the administration and faculty think the uniforms are going over. Do the students look like they are in uniform, or do they just look like theyre all wearing the same color tshirt? Sources: Sidener, Head of Uniforms comittee (Sahwell?), students, teachers (Shanoskie refuses to conform to the uniform)

2-Update on construction. 700 building (always smells like tar, no air, no smart boards, kinda far from rest of school). What can be expected to be finished next? Sources:Construction company, teachers in the new 700 building, administration.

3-What happened to the yearbook? Yearbook is no longer an inschool class, but an afterschool class. How is it going to get done, and by who? Sources: Sidener, Ms. Bush, Editor of yearbook. (as I get more info on the situation, this article can get more info)

4-Political trends in students. Students are getting more involved and interested in politics than they used to. Joining clubs such as JSA, closely following the Presidential race and encouriging their friends to get involved. Sources: Students who are very politically involved (Julie Rivo, Taylor Calibo, Hannah Snitzer...there must be more than just my friends who are featured in almost every newspaper), Mr. Spiegelman (law, debate, gvt. teacher)

5-Guide to being a senior/ Freshman. Things each grade level needs to know to survive Beach High. Sources:Seniors, Freshman, Teachers who handle both grades.

4. Viva la Vida- a review of the current best selling album of internet history, Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida”, and why bands like them are rescuing music from the industry’s terrorists like Katy Perry and many others. Sources- Billboard, Michael McNamee (Rock Ensemble Assistant Director), and Students

5. Abstinence, a Realistic Solution? – a story about sex-education. In school and the media, we are constantly told that the best method of safe-sex is “no sex”, but how realistic is this utopian idea? No thanks Mr. Beato, no students joined the “Abstinence Club”, and some teenagers are bound to have sex. The GSA, along with the clinic, is taking a different approach to sex education. Sources- Duval, Coach Hayes, Students, and the Clinic
