because you make a great 60-year old woman
Thanks.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but after receiving our section assignments during journalism today, Patrick and I would like to propose a switch:
Patrick is currently assigned to the features section, but he has a great preference for opinion, which is his strongest style.
I am currently assigned to opinion, but I exponentially prefer news writing and would be best able to contribute to the paper by writing for that section. In fact, ever since writing our news articles, I have eagerly awaited the opportunity to write more. I know that I managed to earn an ‘A’ on my opinion article earlier this year, but I really struggled with it.
Gwendolyn is currently assigned to news, and though she was not in class today, her friend Alice indicated that, as she has not yet begun work on news, she would probably not mind switching.
We hope that Patrick can first switch sections with Gwendolyn, and then switch with me. This would leave him assigned to the opinion section, me assigned to the news section, and Gwendolyn assigned to features.
We understand that it is important to have strong writers in all sections of the paper, and we hope that this switch satisfies all of the editors involved. If you have a better suggestion, we’d be happy to discuss it. And, of course, if it is not possible to make the changes, we will all do our best with our current assignments.
Thanks a million!
