your article is really good. really liked it.
personally, i would like to see a little more controversy. get more quotes against her- criticize her a little more. after all, i think there's barely any people that think she's reasonable, and many that think she's hell. make that side a little more known and out there. then defend your opinion. it will make it a little more interesting.
if according to people, she's just "unreasonable", there's not much of a controversy and not much of an opinion to defend. give it a little more spice. intensify it.
do you get what im trying to say?
please tell me if you dont. im probably going to use this as the editorial. if not, it will probably go in the paper anyway, but as an opinion article.
remember:
you need to cut down your article to 350 words or so.
About the article, it's not too late.
You should update it in the way i told you before (as in, 'you wouldnt even be reading this paper had the county taken away the money')
Also, you should include some figures. (i.e. how much money did the clubs/classes at our school get?)
let me know when you're done!
p.s. if your article on the library/librarian is good and backed up by facts, that one will go in (i think) instead, considering you do a good job on it (which i think you will).
To have that article in the paper, i think, would be amazing (we need some controversy and excitement).
xo
No clue where its going yet, very very very /very/ basic planner. I need to go contact the people in charge of this to get more info to thorougly fill out a planner.
I'm liking your final draft!
If you want it out in the paper (and it definitely has potential)(i'm choosing either one or two to go in from the opinion writers' pieces), we need to make it more current.
If you decide it is worth the tiny bit of extra work, then you've pretty much got a guaranteed spot.
This is the thing... They've already decided that they're not going to take it. So (!) you need to make it, i think, a really sarcastic, like, what in the world were they thinking type thing. Like for example, 'if they took it you wouldn't even be reading this' style piece. You know?
If you don't, let me know. I could understand this getting a bit confusing through a message.
Good job. And let me know when you're done with this revised draft so i can edit it. (It shouldn't be in later than next Wednesday).
p.s. you spelled SUPERINTENDENT ("superintendant") wrong.

The idea is pretty vague, but I’ll narrow it down. Also, not sure who to post this too so I’m just posting this to both of your blogs (Jesse&Patrick’s) and mine as well.
Okay.
So there have been a couple of changes to our little wonderful opinion group.
Both Carmen and Nadine have left us, and Patrick and Katrina have joined us.
We need to redistribute jobs.
It's okay if you guys work on the articles together and if you help each other write them. Just make sure that everyone has equal influence upon them.
Quotes aren't necessary but I'd see the safe sex campaign needing some for sure (see more about this below). As for the Michael Phelps article, I think it would be cool if you got some people defending him, as well.
I also need more information about the articles to approve them. You need to give me an angle. What about the academies? What about the boat show? The stimulus package? What are your opinions on the matters? What's there to opine about?
I think that the safe sex campaign article has potential. With the right information and maybe some quotes on people who oppose it, im sure it could turn out great. Like, for example, say how ridiculous it is to oppose a safe sex campaign. Etc, etc. That's basically, the only way i'd see this article working. With a little bit of scandal and opposition.
Everything else is cool with me. Please make sure that you get in touch with me and give me a little more information on the articles and the opinions you guys have, though. Just to have an idea before you guys write them.
Good job!
p.s. Lets make the opinion section the best one! Keep up the work!
I would like to study journalism to better my understanding of media-based literature and how it's structured, as well as strengthen my writing skills.
